Tolman Edition Peugeot 205 GTi as restomod with 203 hp!

Many have long forgotten that Peugeot once had a sporty hot hatch. Nowadays, the lion brand is better known for moderately motorized compact and small cars that can be used for the daily journey from A to B. But that was not always the case, because in the days of the group B monsters in rallying there was also a homologation model of the Peugeot 205, which caused a sensation with its 132 hp in the past. Now there is one of the legendary 205 Restomod, which is being produced in limited series by Tolman Engineering of the UK.

Modern elements made their appearance

This is how the body parts, which were once exposed to the rust without protection, became galvanized with a Rockfall protection Mistake. Plus one ceramic finish, which survives minor damage to the vehicle. LED lights all around and the option of a Quaife ATL locking differential to purchase, ensure that the car is also suitable for rally tracks at night. There are also 15-inch rims fitted with Michelin tires that improve traction. Modified Bilstein dampers, a Power Steering and optional AP Racing calipers are further highlights of the Restomod. The interior offers more modern features!

There are comfort features in the cockpit!

The interior was completely rebuilt by Tolman. Modern seats, as well as an Alcantara steering wheel, are in the Franco-British Restomod project. There is also an optional Motec LCD display on the dashboard, a DAB radio, a Bluetooth connection, a Blaupunkt radio with subwoofer and electric ones power windows. The first vehicle delivered to a customer also has a alarm system with central locking, GPS tracker, immobilizer and a smartphone-based remote control. Various upholstery options, a touchscreen infotainment system and air conditioning can also be ordered.

1,6 to 1,9 liter engines are available

The larger 1,9-litre engine is the work of Chris Tolman, who used his WRC and BTCC experience to develop it. The 16-valve, four-cylinder engine has an aluminum block and a Motec ECU with electronic accelerator pedal and delivers 203 hp. This should mutate the 205 GTi into a racing bread that can almost compete with the legendary rally vehicle.

Our conclusion:

  • The minimum asking price for this vehicle is 55.000 British pounds. In return, the solvent customer gets a new edition of a true classic. In our eyes, the car has collector potential.
