1989 Toyota Cressida with 2JZ and JDM tuning!

It has been a long time since Toyota attracted attention with models that start with the letter "C" carried in the name. Today only the Corolla is left of that, and all others like Carina, Corona or Cressida have long been pulped. The Corolla was also not available in Europe for a while, but was reactivated because the model name Auris never really caught on with the public. You never know, but the models mentioned may even experience a comeback, although they have not been in the model range for decades. Today we're introducing you to one Toyota cressida with various modifications before, built in 1989, and by its owner Billy Freed from Maryland, USA, has been professionally tuned.

Snow-white rarity with wings!

As soon as you take a look at the Toyota, you immediately notice that both Rear and roof spoiler adorn the limousine. While the rear spoiler on the trunk lid comes in white, the spoiler on the roof is black.

At first glance, this may seem a bit surprising, but it goes well with the clear and angular design of the Cressida, which, thanks to its modifications, also includes a Stance tuning with help of a coilover from BC Racing, looks very sporty. Ensure optimal deceleration values Z32 calipers front and back that together with Hawk HPS brake pads do their service. In addition, other rims were fitted, because the standard wheels of the Cressida are more suitable for retirees. Tuner Billy chose Enkei RPF1 rims in 18-inch format, which look dynamic with their six double spokes.

The way food is Painting is not a series, but rather a Pearl effect white from the Porsche shelf. Both that Wing mechanism as well as the paint were applied or applied by Hustleworx, and we are impressed by how classic and yet sporty such a Cressida from 1989 can still look today.

In the interior everything is trimmed for sport.

The perfectly neat interior in burgundy has been reworked a little and now includes a Grip Royal steering wheel, an electronic hand brake, a Sports bucket seat from Sparco called EVO II, as well as a bespoke one harness for the driver. In addition, the five courses have a special Custom shift levers sorted, which is strongly reminiscent of JDM drift cars.

A 2JZ engine with turbocharger provides propulsion!

There is a under the hood 2JZ engine with six cylinders and three liters displacement, the one with a BorgWarner S361SXE turbocharger was equipped. Other modifications include a Big Daddy fuel line and FIC 1350cc injectors. The exhaust gases escape through one 4 inch titanium rear silencer with a 4-inch tailpipe, which is typical of the JDM scene.

Furthermore, a two-stage limited slip differential called JZA80, which should enable the Cressida to have good drift properties. The power is transmitted via a AR-5 manual transmission with five forward gears including a Marlin Crawler Upgrade Kit and one Southbend Stage 3 clutch, on the rear wheels. Equipped in this way, the vehicle could take part in drift competitions without any problems and cause some surprises there. Unfortunately we have no information on power and torque.

Our Conclusion for the 1989 Toyota Cressida:

A daring project that many tuners probably don't even have on their radar. However, we are of the opinion that the tuning has been implemented excellently and that the retired Cressida has become a vehicle that turns many heads.
