When the Toyota GT86 was presented at the Tokyo Motor Show in late 2011, it was the joy of many JDM fans It's great that Toyota is finally launching an affordable sports coupe again. After the Celica was discontinued in 2005, the largest automobile company in the world lacked a car in this segment for over 7 years. But Toyota would not be Toyota if it had not satisfied the fans' longings and launched the GT2012 in 86 as the sporty successor to the Celica with rear-wheel drive and longitudinally installed naturally aspirated engine. More specifically, it is actually the veritable successor to the legendary AE86, which is extremely popular in the drift car scene, but unfortunately has never officially made it to Europe. Like the predecessor, the current GT86 is of course a very popular tuning item, which has its fan base all over the world.

Subtle tuning with a wow effect.

In our opinion, the presented example, which is making its rounds in China, is a perfectly staged vehicle, which by Stance tuning and the taillights, completely tinted in black and red, which go perfectly with the metallic black exterior paintwork that has got that certain something. Above all, the GT86 crouches only millimeters above the ground, which mutates it into an asphalt milling machine, where you should avoid the curb or milling edges as much as possible, so that you don't have to fear any unpredictable things. Particularly striking is the duckling spoiler, which is currently absolutely trendy in China, since we have already noticed several vehicles from the Middle Kingdom. In addition, there are of course trailed wheel arches and 18-inch aluminum frames in BBS style, which, however, most likely do not originate from BBS itself, but have a high-quality appearance thanks to their drop center and the elegant chrome look and, in our opinion, are ideal for the vehicle. In addition, the GT86 shows a slightly different fall, but this is only noticeable from certain angles in order to maintain good driveability and not to become unmaneuverable, as is the case with the extreme ones Camber-style cars the case is, whose wheels are almost horizontal in the wheel arch.

Nothing has been changed in the interior.

The interior seems to be completely standard, and the black and red color combination of the cockpit is also available ex works for a GT86. As a result, the car retains its original character and, unlike many other cars, the interior has not been made worse.

The drive of the GT86 is also standard.

With only 200 HP and extremely poor 205 Newton meters of maximum torque, which is also very late, the Toyota GT86 is not a highway monster that can keep up with any super sports car in terms of longitudinal dynamics, but on narrow mountain passes or in curves, the car does it with rear-wheel drive and the light weight of only 1.280 kg is great fun. The model described here has a six-speed automatic and it goes to highway 8,2 in 100 seconds and the top speed is an acceptable 210 km / h.

The motto is Show and Shine.

The progress in the Chinese tuning scene is obvious. Lately we have already presented you with various professionally tuned vehicles from China and in our opinion this Toyota GT86 would also get a very positive response in Europe at every JDM meeting, as it was refined discreetly and yet with a certain show effect. For every tuning fan who gets wet eyes at the sight of the sports coupé, we have of course, as always, provided a picture gallery at the end of the article.
