A Lexus-based Supra? We already know that with an MK5 from Japan! But there was a copy from America long before this conversion. Because someone built an obvious Toyota Supra MK4 “Roadster” based on a Lexus SC 430 Roadster on their own. The result is and was the only known Toyota Supra Roadster to date which "unofficially" completed the model range of Coupé and Targa of the Supra series. The vehicle was converted back then by Supra fan Sháine Xraüsby and the result made and continues to make waves in various Supra and Lexus forums. As mentioned, the basis was a 1995 Supra Coupé JZA80 with a 2JZ vacuum cleaner and five-speed manual transmission.
8-inch screen as a rear-view mirror is not installed here
After about 500 working hours, the conversion was finished and apart from the eight-inch screen as a rear-view mirror in the windshield, which was connected to a Playstation 2, the car could also have come directly from Toyota. Of course, apart from the Lexus logos on the front and back and the SC 440 lettering. A bit of the opulent Lexus SC 430 convertible still shimmered through. The Lexus hub caps also made the confusion perfect. The vehicle was certainly a controversy and the ultimate fuel for many discussions. However, we think the implementation and the idea are extremely successful, even if the vehicle is no longer "like this" due to various sales!
