The Toyota TRD Pro models will be upgraded for 2021. For the 4Runner, all engines are equipped as standard with LED headlights and fog lights and the TRD Pro variants continue to carry the well-known RIGID LED fog lights. The classes Limited, Nightshade and TRD Pro also receive an LED high beam. And also new for the 4Runner are the black TRD alloy wheels with Nitto Terra Grappler tires and the newly tuned 2,5 inch Fox Bypass shock absorbers, which “should enable a significant reduction in the noticeable vibrations when driving off-road and at higher speeds". At the same time, there should be no compromises in terms of comfort or steering behavior. Toyota presented the Tacoma, Tundra and 4Runner as Trail Special Editions at the Chicago Auto Show in February, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, everything planned for the future was then brought to a standstill.

The 3 models Tacoma, Tundra and 4Runner will be available from autumn and are based on the SR5 class. You can choose between 2WD and 4WD drive. The Tacoma Trail is based on the SR5 double cabin and the Tundra Trail on the SR5 Crew Max variant with the SR5 upgrade package. That means a larger tank, bucket seats with electrical lumbar support in the front and a few other components such as all-weather floor mats are already included. There is also the well-known Army Green for lunar rock painting, there is the color Cement and Midnight Black Metallic and finally an elegant Super White.
