Tuning on the Honda Integra - classic car scene

Did you know that the Honda Integra has been around since 1985? It is a model of the lower middle class that was sold in different markets until the year 2006. Since then, the basis for the Intergra has been the platform of the respective Honda Civic and also as far as the modification by means of tuning was concerned, as an Integra owner with the Civic drivers almost always agreed. The various models of the Integra are called AV Series (from 1985-1989), DA5-DA9, DB1-DB2 (from 1989-1993), DB6-DB9, DC1-DC2, DC4 (from 1993-2001) and the DC5 ( from 2001-2006). The most popular model, however, is clearly the Honda Integra Type R, which was built as a Honda 2 + 2-seated front-wheel sports coupe.

Integra tuning is cult

It was equipped with an 4 in-cylinder engine (DOHC, VTEC, 16 valves) the 190 PS & 178 NM torque and a maximum speed of an unbelievable 7900 rpm. Due to the low weight of only 1.200 kg, an acceleration of 0-100 km / h was possible in only 6,7 seconds and only at a top speed of 234 km / h was the propulsion slowly but surely put to an end. The Integra Type R (Type DC2) was built from 1998 to 2001 and all kinds of tuning were also used on it. Towering rear spoilers and extensive aerodynamic kits were particularly popular and, of course, the engine was allowed to spit out some exorbitant performance figures. Currently, the Integra is rarely seen and when it does, it is fortunately often in series production or only in JDM style (classic Integra tuning) modified.

Finally, we would also like to mention that there was still a Japanese Type R model that was offered in several variants. With the “98spec” came the model with the greatest technical changes compared to the “96spec” that was initially presented. For example there were the 16 "rims with a bolt circle diameter of 5 × 114.3, different gear ratios, modified exhaust manifolds, a larger intake manifold with polished inlet and outlet ducts, etc.
