Restomod, Restomod, Restomod! At the moment you get the impression that there are hardly any modern vehicles that are modified. Every day we get new stories about the converted classic. More than about current vehicles. It's hard to believe how many old-timers are still with us and how wonderful basic vehicles are for attractive conversions and bodies. An impressive example is this Ford Maverick from 1969. Anyone who has ever managed to put together such a fantastic specimen naturally has no more thought of a current vehicle. In particular, not an electric vehicle with a boring design and unemotional background noise. And this Maverick one-off even laughs at the highly praised e-boxes. The reason for this is under the fully restored and rebuilt body.
BiTurbo-427-V8 with 1.200 hp
The Chevrolet Nova and Dodge Dart competitor from the sixties has a BiTurbo 427 V8 under the long hood and has since enjoyed more than five times the performance of the original with inline six-cylinder. The heavily modified engine delivers an unbelievable 1.200 hp to the extra-wide rear wheels with the help of an also heavily modified General Motors 4L80-E automatic. The chic coupe belongs to Jimmy Shaw and was made by the Greening Auto Company built up. The result is an absolute killer in drag racing and at the same time the Maverick can also casually cruise the motorway as a daily driver. The body is covered with a gray BASF paint and has a hood that can be tilted forwards and there were widebody fenders all around. A carbon front spoiler, a carbon front apron, carbon side skirts, a carbon rear spoiler and the aerodynamically shaped diffuser as well as the complete rear apron are also made of the ultra-light material.
modern headlights and taillights
Incidentally, the Maverick has been sitting on a specially built, ultra-modern one since the conversion Roadster shop frame and has also received an all-round independent suspension. The aggressive coupe is braked by a Baer sports brake system with large discs and saddles, and the increase in performance was achieved, among other things, by means of special engine management, precision turbochargers, racing fuel injection and a completely revised cooling system. And typically Restomod, many details can only be recognized as modern components of the present at second glance. They continue to shine in the style of back then. This applies, for example, to the ultra-modern headlights and the LED taillights.
Roll cage and ultra-light sports seats
And the drop-bed forged wheel set with central locking is also worth mentioning. And of course that also applies to the completely turned inside out cabin. Here you can immediately recognize a sports steering wheel, there is a specially adapted roll cage and ultra-light sports seats. Here, too, it is the small details in particular, such as the specially made center console or the dashboard in noble carbon fiber, that make this unique piece so enviable. And finally ... a fantastic specimen that has a top speed of 326 kilometers per hour on the half mile makes some super athletes look old.
