UAZ - Ulyanovsky Avtomobilny Zavod

The manufacturer Uljanowski Awtomobilny Sawod (Russian Улья́новский автомоби́льный заво́д (УАЗ) is also known in this country as the "Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant". The brand is particularly shaped by the English translation "Uljanovsky Avtomobilny Zavod", which is also responsible for the abbreviation UAZ. The former Soviet and now Russian automobile manufacturer is based in Ulyanovsk and continues to use this abbreviation in international markets. Cars manufactured by UAZ can be identified by the vehicle identification number X7R. Incidentally, the company is now part of the Sollers Group. Vehicles from then were the GAZ-69, UAZ-450A, UAZ-451, UAZ-452, and UAZ-469. The UAZ Hunter and the UAZ Patriot are from the present. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the UAZ plant was transformed into the UAZ plant Uljanowsky Avtomobilny Zavod PJST and only one year later a modified version of the old UAZ-1992 was presented with the UAZ-31514. The vehicle had a metal roof, height-adjustable seats and contemporary door openers. One year later (October 469) UAZ was even awarded the "Golden Globe International Prize" due to the high quality of the vehicles.
