Just in time for the end of the year, our VW Golf 1.6tdi 4Motion still has a little woe! For almost 300.000 run kilometers he forgave but because so far he is doing daily, reliable and constant, his service. The problem, sometimes the right xenon headlamp either went bright red or did not work at all. So we called briefly at VW and inquired what the exchange would probably cost. After receiving the information that we have to reckon with costs of up to 250 € we had the idea to do it all ourselves. We decided for an absolute cheap part that was on a big platform to buy because we just want to know how long does it last, it works, and what can it? With 17,99 € we were there and already two days later, the package arrived. Especially on the passenger side, installation is extremely easy and can be achieved within 2-3 minutes. Otherwise, the whole looks on the driver's side, here there are major problems because, for example, the fuse box and the vehicle battery must be removed. But even that was done within about 15-20 minutes and the new 5000K Xenon burners are now doing their job. We are curious how long they will last and whether the vehicle carries any damage. A classic cheap vs. expensive Test! The following video may give you a little help, should you have the same plan. Please note that we are not responsible for the accuracy of our information give and especially careful if you want to do it yourself!
