For a long time Volkswagen toyed with the idea of bringing a Golf R onto the market that would be powered by the 2,5-liter five-cylinder from the Audi RS3. But since Audi did not want that, the project fell apart. While the German manufacturer finally gave up on the plan, the tuning scene continued to exhaust the idea. Since then we have seen many Golfs with the RS3 engine. And one of them is this Mk7 Golf R, which was filmed at a drag racing event in this country. It was tuned to about 600 hp which is a good jump. After all, a standard RS3 has “only” 400 hp and 480 Nm of torque, which it brings to the road via the S-tronic seven-speed dual clutch transmission and the quattro all-wheel drive system. Unfortunately, we can't say how fast the R will accelerate to 100 km / h, but it will probably be in the 3,5 to 3,9 seconds range. After all, a standard RS3 does it in 4,1 seconds.
