This visually very modest VW Golf MK7 is a real one Sleeper! As we know, the VW Golf has always been suitable for any kind of performance enhancement. But when it does, it is mostly based on a GTI or a Golf R. But this rear-wheel drive monster is neither a GTi nor an R! It is a real drift car and built by a tuner from Finland. The basis of a drift car is usually not a science. It should be an affordable rear-wheel drive vehicle with an engine bay that can accommodate a powerful engine. A longer wheelbase is also helpful to enable better drifts. Properties that a VW Golf actually "NOT" has. But the vehicle from the video is different. It's the VW Golf from Maailmanlopun, a Finland-based drift team.
with M60B40-V8 engine
Apart from a set of accessory rims, the Golf has not received any visual changes, but there is a 4,0-liter BMW V8 engine under the hood. Namely the relatively old M60B40-V8, which also did its job in the Alpina B8 4.6 based on the BMW M60 with up to 340 hp in the end. In the Golf, as far as we know, it "only" delivers the original 286 hp of the series! Thanks to some hand-picked BMW parts from numerous vehicles, the VW Golf is now a Frankenstein BMW. It has a custom built rear suspension and a BC coilover kit and the performance is really impressive. Watch the video!
