Can it be a little crazier? This VW Type 2 bus from the USA has turned against the "Flower Power" movement of the 1960s "slightly changed". Perry Watkins' vehicle has been completely rebuilt and has a Rolls-Royce engine installed in the rear that produces a good 5.000 hp (3729 kilowatts). The basis is a 1958 VW bus that was prepared over two years to be able to use the jet engine and even has a ROAD APPROVAL. The installation of the afterburner alone took a good 6 months and after that it took another 3 years until the T2 platform was ready.
it is also completely restored
The total weight of 2.993 kilograms is quite remarkable, but the power of the turbine would theoretically be enough to accelerate the Bulli to 483 km / h. By the way, Watkins has driven 258 km / h himself! And as already mentioned, the part is even approved for use on the street. However, not with an active turbine, but with the series engine that is still installed. The turbine must be deactivated when used in traffic.
