This VW up is unlike any other. The cheap hatchback is called "5 up" and belongs to Charlie Roberts. Under the tiny hood pottering Turbo VR5 engine making it the fastest of its kind in all of Europe. Gone are the days of the measly three-cylinder petrol or CNG engines and the up electric version also makes the special model look old. Even the sporty GTI version is a joke by comparison. Specifically installed is a 2,3 liter Volkswagen VR5 engine, the one mighty Garrett GT3582 turbocharger with water-to-air intercooler got donated on the left side in the engine compartment. While driving at 0,4 bar (5,8 psi) in the video, Roberts was able to 282 PS squeeze out of the small city car. That resulted in a quarter mile time of 11,647 seconds at 121,55 miles per hour (approx. 196 km/h), making the 5 up about as fast as a Mustang GT 5.0.
