A few months ago, the us presented VÄTH Automobiltechnik GmbH the discreetly revised Mercedes-Benz GLK on 20 Zöllern and thus showed a subtly modified variant of the already discontinued compact SUV. But of course the tuner also has to work on the successor in the form of the GLC (internal name: X 253) leave their mark and also help them to become significantly more sporty. In particular, the components around the chassis were modified. A high-quality set of VÄTH V2-GT alloy wheels in the dimensions 8,5 and 10 × 20 inches with a titanium high-gloss finish was installed. The new aluminum rims are fitted with tires in 245 / 45ZR20 & 275 / 45ZR20 format and fitted into the wheel arch with a coilover kit. The new chassis allows a lowering of 20 to 55 mm and offers hardness and height adjustable shock absorbers. But significantly more sportiness is only of limited use if the engine performance remains the same. But here, too, there was a big plus for the Stuttgarter in an increase in performance from 170PS to 205PS / 470NM Chiptuning - tuning box V22CDI manifests.
We are not aware of any new acceleration values for the GLC 220 CDI, but at least Väth left the information that the top speed of the compact SUV increases to 220 km / h. Visually, however, there are only subtle retouching such as the Väth stainless steel running boards, the high-quality chrome rear loading sill protection, or the visually appealing stainless steel tailpipe trims. If desired, the panels can be combined with the optional VÄTH Active Sound Package including a sound actuator made of VA stainless steel and the system then ensures that the diesel also leaves a rich sound and meets the sportier demands. If we get more information about other modifications to the GLC, there is of course, as always, an update for this post.
