Venucia T90 - rolling spaceship of the affordable Nissan subsidiary.

Many of you will never have heard of the Venucia brand, which arose from a cooperation between the Chinese car giant Dongfeng and Nissan and is celebrating great success in Asia. The brand was founded back in 2010 and initially older Nissan models were simply re-labeled and sold in China as Venucia models. In the meantime, the brand has emancipated itself and is also pushing into higher segments. The first model that tried to strip off the cheap image was the T90, which was introduced in September 2016 and received extensive model updates for the current model year.

design takes some getting used to

The styling of the T90 is completely different from all other automobiles currently on the market. So one cannot accuse Nissan and Dongfeng of having copied something from your China model. The front section with the large grill and the characteristic "V" in the chrome clasp below the bonnet and the rectangular headlights look a bit like the brand new BMW models, which are still in the testing phase. The only difference is the size of the grill, which is much smaller with Venucia. So you can definitely ask yourself who has looked at whom. Now we come to the sideline, which rises extremely and ends in an exceptionally high rear end that clearly exceeds that of a BMW X6. This raises the question of clarity to the rear. The rear of the 4,81 m long, 1,87 m wide and 1,59 m flat crossover coupé looks like a Pontiac Aztek and a Hyundai Ioniq had a child, and the rectangular fake exhaust pipes somehow don't like the rest of the car. It should be emphasized positively that the trunk volume of the five-seater is already in the normal position at 628 liters, and is a huge 1648 liters with the rear bench seat folded down.

Motors are known from the manufacturer Nissan

The Venucia T90 is currently powered exclusively by a 2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with 150 hp and a meager 205 Nm of maximum torque, but the engine range will soon be supplemented by a brand new 1,5-liter turbo petrol engine with mild hybrid technology and 190 hp. This unit also provides 260 Newton meters of maximum torque and should be much more sporty than the naturally aspirated petrol, which reaches its top speed at 180 km / h. However, mileage is not yet known for the new turbo engine and will only be published at the market launch.

Technically fully up to date.

When it comes to comfort and safety features, the Venucia T90 can keep up with European premium vehicles, because in the top version driver assistance systems such as blind spot warning, lane keeping assistant, emergency brake assistant with pedestrian detection, 360-degree around-view monitor and other useful things that make driving more pleasant, are already included as standard.

a little Ssangyong Rodius Optik

And finally ... This completely non-compliant crossover with coupé look is a classless car without competition, which one would be most likely to trust SsangYong or Citroën, but should not be associated with an entry-level brand from Nissan. The 2-liter gasoline version with full equipment costs the equivalent of around 30.000 euros if taxes and duties are added, but the prices are not yet available for the much more modern 1,5-liter turbo gasoline engine and a 48V start generator, also known as a mild hybrid system firmly.
