Crazy part: Veritas RS III with BMW V10 engine!

The one built by Vermot AG (formerly Veritas AG) in small series Veritas RS III as the official successor to the Veritas RS built from August 1948 to March 1950 is still an absolute eye-catcher. Reason enough for us to take a quick look at the 4,99 meter long, 1,97 meter wide and 0,97 meter high single-seater with the right jump seat. It was built in Grafschaft-Gelsdorf near the Nürburgring and, with its 10-cylinder on board, was insanely fast at 347 km/h. The engine comes from BMW. The S10 V85 with a 90-degree cylinder angle and the seven-speed SMG from the M5/M6 as well as a whopping 507 horsepower and 520 NM on board manages the sprint to country road speed in just 3,2 seconds. The Veritas RS III was presented for the first time at the Essen Motor Show in 2000. Other vehicle highlights include a tiny windshield stub, an infinitely long bonnet, you also sit just in front of the rear axle, there is a complete carbon fiber bodywork from the company Formtech and under the carbon skin there is an elaborate space frame construction.

Inside there is an Nappa leather Recaro bucket seat, classic instruments and a low one Sport steering wheel with paddle shifters. The driver is also hanging in four-point harnesses Celebration. The 1+1 seat configuration also features a removable, body-colored, Paneling for on the passenger side. And the engine announces itself acoustically by means of Stainless steel exhaust system with Headers and M5 cat to word. With a Empty weight of only 1.067 kilograms, with 325 rollers on the rear axle, rear-wheel drive, a mechanical one locking differential from Drexler, a direct servo rack and pinion steering and one tried and tested on the Nordschleife Pushrod Öhlins suspension with double aluminum triangular wishbones, crazy lap times are still guaranteed today. Incidentally, the braking power was from a BT Racing braking system implemented, with six and four-piston calipers and ceramic discs measuring 380 mm (14,9 inches) at the front and 355 mm (13,9 inches) at the rear.
