284 PS "GEIGER-Willys" - how to drive Jeep Wrangler

The best for last! With the Jeep "GEIGER-Willys" Limited Edition, the importer & tuner GeigerCars is bringing a very special copy at the end of the year. Next to the Land Rover Defender and the Mercedes G-Class is the Jeep Wrangler one of the few car models that are built almost unchanged over a period of decades. (at least in optical terms) If you buy a new Jeep Wrangler you have somehow also acquired a classic. The history of the Jeep Wrangler even makes it back to World War II.

It was the US Army that commissioned the development of a small and inexpensive off-road vehicle in 1940 and so the Willys MB was built in 1942 and was built until 1945. The Willys (Jeep) has been continuously developed since then and not only for military use. At that time sold as a Jeep CJ, the first Wrangler was born in 1987. The US car specialist now has the current third generation, which will soon be replaced Geiger Cars with a limited special series as a tribute to the original Willys MB aufgemotzt.

The basis for the "GEIGER-Willys" Limited Edition is the Wrangler in the classic, two-door version. And of course, the US version with six-speed manual or optional automatic transmission. Under the hood is the 3,6 liter Pentastar petrol engine that already delivers fabulous 284 PS / 209 kW ex works. Suffice for the off-roader and so was the focus of this project not on an increase in performance but to present it as true to the original Willys designs. Because of this, the engine was left in production condition.

Only a new exhaust system with flap control was installed to give the V6 a hearing. This is all the more involved and profound in the new look. The Wrangler is completely disassembled and then painted in classic matt green (special paint). Of course, the logos and stylish lettering of the original should not be missing and so carries the violinist Willys appropriate applications. There is also a particularly robust Rugged Ridge bumper with a strong front winch and something has changed at the rear.

Here Geiger installed a reinforced spare wheel holder with a full-fledged spare wheel without covering and also a new bumper. As a wheel set, it was decided to use 17 inch steel rims in body color with 265/70 all-terrain tires. And they also have a new hood up their sleeves, as is the case for the window cover on the side, which is made of special green fabric. As a final move, the interior was refined and so there is also the perfect Willys MB look here. Olive green seats are the highlight and of course you want to tie in with the exterior.
