VW "pretzel beetle" with Airride and compressor charging!

Volkswagen is also loved in the land of unlimited possibilities. But not only the iconic Bulli, which caused a sensation, especially during the hippie movement, but also the VW Beetle is still in great demand in the USA and finds various fans overseas. That's how it belongs too Scott Tredo to the lovers of classic VW models, although up to now he has only modified US automobiles, and the example we are introducing today is the first VW model that he dared to try. It should be mentioned that the car was heavily revised before it was acquired by tuner Scott in 2018, as it was previously in the hands of the Boxer engine specialists Buddy Hale fell, who already conjured a piece of jewelry out of him. Buddy Hale also helped Scott with the further changes and accompanied the project through to completion.

Classic with cult potential!

Thus, the classic crawling animal gains tremendously in coolness and overtaking prestige. Furthermore, the VW got a Custom air suspension, which pushes it much closer to the asphalt, and thus increases the optical width again.

This is controlled Airride chassis via an Accuair control, which can be operated from the cockpit. Of course, new rims should not be missing either, and so Scott Tredo opted for ultra-cool ones CIP1 BRM style aluminum in 17-inch format. With their red ring on the tread and the gray finish with a silver star, they are reminiscent of the current Rotiform models. The ultra-modern rims look surprisingly well on the classic, and harmonize perfectly with the matt black finish. Everything looks coherent and harmonious, so that a clear concept can be recognized.

The mounted tires measure 165/40 R27 on the front axle, while tires in size 215/50 R17 are installed on the rear axle. A modern one ensures optimal deceleration values Old-speed braking system with four disc brakes all around. Thus, the brakes have been adapted to the increased performance, and the Beetle comes to a safe stop from all speeds.

Red leather in the interior!

The cockpit is a symphony Red and blackwith red playing a dominant role. leather seats, Door panels and Steering wheel rim are kept blood red and exude a little luxury and sportiness at the same time. The rear seat is by installing the Compressor Unfortunately, it can no longer be used as such for the Airride, but it still serves as a luggage rack. The Leather Steering Wheels Incidentally comes from a Porsche 356, and the vehicle was equipped with a 12V electrical system equipped to include the classic Telefunken radio adapt to modern needs. This means that the Beetle's occupants enjoy a certain level of comfort while driving that you would not expect from an old VW.

An air-cooled one works in the back of the beetle 1,4 liter boxer engine, which was equipped with a Judson compressor to bring the standard output of only 40 hp into shape. This is joined by a revised one Solex carburetor. Custom-made ones were also made ignition cable, Bosch 010 ignition distributor and 83mm AA pistons and cylinder liners built in, which complete the tuning measures on the engine. Unfortunately, we don't know how high the performance is thanks to the modifications, but we assume that you can keep up with traffic. Incidentally, the power is transmitted via a Manual transmission with four courses on the Rear wheels.

Scott Tredo knows his trade and not only builds beautiful Restomod classics from American production, but also has a knack for old Volkswagen models.
