Spectacular gullwing doors, a thick 6,2 liter V8 with a maximum of 631PS & 635NM torque, no matter which model - it always goes to 4km / h in under 100 seconds, and the V.-Max is at 320 km / h (GT Coupé & GT Roadster) At the height of the time! The technical data of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (internal name C 197, SLS AMG Roadster R 197) are still phenomenal 7 years after its market launch, and anyone who currently owns an SLS shouldn't really have the idea of selling it again. Current models from 2010 are hardly available for less than 150.000 euros and continue their upward trend. In my opinion, the coupe in particular, with its gullwing doors, is the highlight. The R197 convertible is of course not boring either, but the spectacular gullwing doors of the coupe are an eye-catcher. Since the 1954 SL, which was built from 1957 to 300, a Mercedes has never been fitted with this type of door at the factory and that is what makes the Coupe so irresistible. Maybe the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren (199 series) can keep up a bit in terms of looks, because the Butterfly doors, as an homage to the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé, are also an eye-catcher. But now to the SLS of Vossen Wheels from Japan! The owner of this dull gray-colored jewel had in addition to the new outer skin, a set of alloy wheels in the head!
A Vossen Forged Precision Series VPS-305T wheelset in striking gold was installed, which serves as a contrast to the subtle foiling. In addition, there was also a complete body kit that gave the SS a much more aggressive appearance. The body kit includes a new bumper with huge air inlets at the front which also includes an integrated front spoiler + air inlets on the side. And the huge bonnet is completely new and now has a much more prominent power dome in the middle. In addition, new side skirts, gills for the fenders and a completely new rear bumper were installed. The highlight, however, is definitely the fixed rear wing, which should provide significantly more downforce and also has its right to exist optically. And a lowering was apparently installed, but as with the body kit, unfortunately we are not aware of any information here. If we get more information about the modifications to the SLS, there is of course, as always, an update for this report.
