Finally, VW brings the Arteon with proper power. The 2.0 TSI 4Motion with 280 PS & 350 NM is not bad. But inherit the VW Phaeton? The Arteon is not official Successor to the Wolfsburg flagship, and also located at least one floor lower, but it should still attract previous Phaeton drivers. However, anyone who has been traveling here with the 4,2l V8 or the large 6.0 W12 should only smile tiredly at the four-cylinder engine. But now there is a copy that with 483 PS & 600 NM would be more than just an adequate replacement. Even if still with a 2.0 TSI engine. But we would like to take your hope away again, because it is just a one-off piece. But what a thing!

for the World Time Attack Challenge

The vehicle was set up by trainees from the VW Group and transformed into an ART3on ArtCar by the Sydney street artist Simon Murray (alias KADE) using eye-catching foiling. The basis is the 280 PS R-Line model which, thanks to extensive modifications, now sends 203 PS & 250 NM more to all four wheels. The Arteon was designed for participation in the World Time Attack Challenge currently being prepared in Sydney. As expected, the key data are phenomenal. Only 3,9 seconds pass for the sprint to 100 km / h (Series 5,6 seconds) and should the top speed not continue to be limited, it should also be easy to reach 300 km / h.

significant modifications to the engine

In order to achieve the immense jump in performance, there were 3 stage turbochargers from Racing Line including custom intake and airbox, a large intercooler, a much stronger fuel pump and a completely custom sports exhaust system in series look. The subtle lowering and much more sportiness achieved by the Arteon Bilstein Clubsport suspension and the black multi-spoke rims with Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo tires somehow remind us of BBS Motorsport Alus. Certainly we are not here! On the other hand, we have more information about the brake system that comes from APR.

everything out what is not needed

With its red brake calipers and slotted brake discs, it brings the ART3on to a standstill. Incidentally, the interior has been consistently trimmed to racing and so everything that caused ballast flew out and there were racing seats and a roll cage for it. Should we timely still information about further changes or the result of World Time Attack Challenge Of course, there is an update for this report.
