Done: VW Beetle GT from JP Performance & Prior Design!

Do you remember the VW Beetle GT from the GranTurismo video game series, which should go into series? JP Performance and Prior Design took on the daring project. Now the first vehicle of this type has apparently been completely finished, because the extraordinary Beetle GT can be admired on JP Kraemer's YouTube channel. Maybe JP became a little bit like his ex-colleague's Beetle RSi Sydney Hoffman inspired and spurred on to surpass the project, but in any case, the cult tuner, together with Prior Design, developed a body kit for the Beetle that pretty much puts everything Beetle tuning in the shade that has been seen before.

Focus on racetrack performance

It is fair to say that this body kit can be used by everyone Second generation VW Beetle, which was produced between 2011 and 2019, makes it a legitimate successor to the legendary RSi of the first-generation Beetle. They are particularly noticeable air intakes on the fenders as well as the additional lights in the front bumper. Even the little ones Holes under the hoodwhich are strongly reminiscent of high-performance models from Porsche, testify to the power that lies under the hood of the VW Beetle project.

The fat one Widebody optics is almost taken ad absurdum at the stern, because powerful, rectangular Fenderthat look as if they could be adjusted individually in order to influence the aerodynamics, are among the most daring stylistic devices that we have ever seen on a VW. This is joined by an ultra-fat, multi-part rear wing Made of carbon that looks like it came straight from a dragster. Far less noticeable is that Turbo lettering on the sides as well as the concave rotiform Rims in five-double-spoke design, which are so huge with their 22-inch format that they completely fill the not exactly small wheel arches of the VW Beetle.

The diffuser at the rear, for example, consists of no less than 28 parts and is embedded in the rear apron. Thus, the breathtaking body kit, which no one will be able to replicate anytime soon, is an absolute tuning highlight, and every copy of the limited edition of 53 pieces, will also have an autograph from JP Kraemer and Andras Belzek from Prior Design.

2,5-liter five-cylinder gasoline engine in the Beetle

Incidentally, there is a seat under the hood 2,5 liter TFSI engine with five cylinders, which does its job in the current Audi RS3. As you know JP and his crew, the engine should not remain series, but much more than 400 hp and 500 Newton meters of maximum torque as soon as it has been modified. In any case, we are sure that the monster will offer driving performance on a supersport level, and it will be interesting to see what times it burns into the asphalt on the in-house LaSise test track from JP Performance.

Our Conclusion to the extreme VW Beetle:

A clever move by JP and Prior Design to launch the body kit in small series. Prior Design has official approval from the Japanese game development company to replicate the kit and mass produce it. So every buyer who pays €5.990 for one of the 53 copies is on the safe side.

Another big advantage is that every second-generation Beetle can be equipped with it, regardless of the type of engine.
