In the mid-90s, VW invented the iconic Harlequin livery. Originally as Special series for the then VW Polo thought, the wave also spilled over to other VW, even if only the then smallest Wolfsburg was available with the paintwork. Today, original Harlequin livery polos are offered at exceptional prices as they are rare and sought after. The color combination is also appreciated in Great Britain and tuner Paul Hunter thought that the four-color design would also go well with a Caddy. After all, this also comes from Volkswagen.
Square, practical, iconic!
First they fall four colors the paint on which Tornado red, pistachio green, Chagall blue and gorse yellow mean. There are various Attachments from other VW models, like one Grill from the Golf VII, a Mk4 bumper front, side skirts from the Caddy Alltrack and one rear bumper from the Golf Mk4 R32. That too Suspension and the Brakes consist of components from different vehicles and manufacturers. There are individually adjustable dampers from BC Racing on the front axle, while dampers from Koni are used at the rear. the Bremsanlage on the front axle comes from a Porsche Cayenne and rear care Brakes from the Golf R32 for optimum deceleration values.
All in all it is a wild potpourri of various Tuning parts of the VW Group. Don't forget the self-made one Custom bonnet with an evil eye. as Rims they chose 19-inch aluminum with a white finish, which comes from VW Motorsport. Together with the red wheel nuts, they match the shrill harlequin appearance. Tire technical are located Pirelli P Zero tires in 225/35 R19 format on the car. Finally, the central one was also installed Twin pipe exhaust of the Golf R32, which from our point of view optimally sets the scene for the increased sportiness.
The interior is colorful and sporty!
Recaro sports seats of the type Sportster CS as well as a Sport steering wheel from the Golf GTD, which has been upgraded with decorative harlequin stitching, indicate the potential of the Caddy in terms of driving dynamics. With it you'll get Four-point harness belts from Takata as well as a large one Roll cage in the generously dimensioned cargo area. Besides, there are two more under the seats Subwoofer, which to a Sound system belong to Pioneer, which provides powerful boom in the cabin.
A 1,8 liter turbo and 300 hp!
Of course, the engine power has to match so many sporty insignia. That's why Paul Hunter planted one in the high-roof station wagon 1,8-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, using a larger K04 hybrid turbocharger, One ECU remapping as well as a Intercooler from the Audi TT RS to about 300 PS was pushed. Switching is via a manual Six-speed transmission from the Seat Leon Cupra R and the power is only passed on to the front wheels. We are sure that you will get some astonished looks with the vehicle on the Autobahn.
