For many VW fans, the Golf R is the absolute ultimate. A Golf, paired with a powerful four-cylinder turbo engine, which is also much more powerful than the legendary Golf GTI, and thus represents the spearhead in the model range of the Wolfsburg icon, is of course very popular in the VW scene, and is also popular further refined and modified. It all started with the blissful R32 of the fourth Golf generation, which was still equipped with a VR6 naturally aspirated engine that made an impressive 241 hp for the time. Many golf fans still rave about this model today, because the soundscape of the six-cylinder in particular still impresses many car fans today. As already mentioned above, the 7th generation Golf R has to make do with four cylinders, since downsizing does not stop at sporty compacts either.

The Golf R has been refined very subtly.

But downsizing does not in any way affect the tunability or popularity of the model. As you can see from the Golf 7.5 R we presented, people even in China appreciate the advantages of the sporty Wolfsburg, and it is also very well received in the local tuning scene. This example stands on RAYS ZE40 rims in 19-inch format, on which Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires in the format 235/35 R19 are mounted. Externally, the dark blue color, paired with the two-part roof spoiler and various stickers that adorn the body, is the most striking thing about the blue R. The lower part of the rear bumper has also been modified, as well as a Milltek sports exhaust system with four tailpipes, which is the standard four-pipe system replaced. It can hardly be distinguished from the original, but the sound of the four-cylinder turbo with DSG transmission has probably been improved, although we have not yet found any audio samples. From our point of view, the sound is relatively poor ex works. The owner has not dared to make any major optical experiments, and in our opinion that is a good thing, because the noble Golf VII R is not a handicraft shop, as you unfortunately see it very often in various Golf models.

Nothing has changed in terms of engine technology.

The Golf R's 888-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine, called EA2, has an output of 310 hp as standard, but it could well be that the Milltek sports exhaust system releases a few more horses. The maximum torque is a tight 400 Newton meters, which is also applied shortly above idle speed. In the model we are introducing, power is transmitted via a 7-speed direct shift gearbox (DSG), which means that the most powerful Golf can sprint from 5,1 to 0 km / h in 100 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour. This makes the golf in sheep's clothing a compact sports car that can fully demonstrate its qualities on the autobahn, provided that it is allowed to.

The owner is probably a member of a tuning club.

The owner is a member of the TS Performance Clubs, a Chinese tuning club, which is apparently based on VAG models specialized, because the pictures still show two Audi S3 sedans, which also have the club's logo on the rear window.
