The KW coilover kits variant 8, variant 1 and variant 2 have already been released for the new VW Golf 3. All three coilovers have stainless steel struts. As part of the parts certificate, the KW variant 1, variant 2 and variant 3 allow a continuously adjustable maximum lowering of up to 60 millimeters. The three KW coilovers from the “Street Performance” delivery program of the chassis manufacturer differ in the damper technologies used. While variant 1 does not have a tunable KW damper, variant 2 can set the rebound stage with 16 clicks and with variant 3 even the rebound (16 clicks) and compression forces (twelve clicks) can be set separately. The KW coilover kits for the new VW Golf 8 are available from 1.129 euros including a parts certificate. KW Clubsport and the adaptive KW DDC plug & play coilover kits are already being developed for the new Golf.

The new VW Golf has recently become available and the suspension manufacturer KW automotive already has various coilovers in its range. "We have currently completed the development and test phase for the first trolleys with a parts certificate," says KW Brand Manager Jonas Ehrmann. "Including our popular variant 3." The KW coilover variant 3 (from 1.899 euros) has developed through its separate compression and rebound adjustment as well as the complex multi-valve technology to the best-selling coilover by the chassis manufacturer. The main reason for this is the chassis tuning used by KW in conjunction with KW multi-valve technology. Despite a maximum and infinitely adjustable lowering of 60 millimeters, the new VW Golf 8 drives comparatively sporty and harmonious in everyday life. "Our setup philosophy for all our suspensions in the so-called street performance category is a basic setup that is as tight as necessary and as comfortable as possible," Jonas Ehmann continues. Whether on country roads or poorly developed secondary roads, speedy travel on the motorway or a vacation trip over Alpine passes, the KW VW 8's road holding increases further with a KW coilover kit.

as variant 1, variant 2 and variant 3

The drivers of a VW Golf 8, for whom, for example, this preset basic setup in variant 3 may be too comfortable, can further adjust the damping to the respective individual requirements through the low-speed compression stage that can be set with twelve clicks and the low-speed rebound stage that can be set separately with 16 clicks to adjust. In simple terms, the task of the rebound is to tie the body to the road; on the other hand takes over the pressure stage to support the entire body structure. The damper forces are set directly on the chassis by hand. The KW coilovers Variant 1.479, available from 2 euros, also have adjustable dampers. In contrast to variant 3, only the low-speed rebound forces can be set with 2 clicks in variant 16. The KW coilover variant 1 (1.129 euros), on the other hand, has no adjustable dampers. As a result, the damper setup of variant 1 preset in the KW chassis manufacturer can no longer be adjusted. "As we work with variant 3 with preconfigured high-speed valves for compression and rebound as well as two adjustable low-speed damper valves, we can achieve that a Golf 8 with variant 3 is also a little more comfortable than, for example, a KW variant 1 or KW Variant 2 drives. "

stepless lowering from 35 to 60 millimeters

As part of the parts certificate, all three KW coilovers available for the VW Golf 8 allow a stepless lowering of 35 to 60 millimeters on both axles. While the stepless lowering range on the front axle is adjusted on the stainless steel struts via the trapezoidal thread, the depth on the rear axle is changed via a so-called height adjustment. “With its multi-link rear axle, the VW Golf 8, like its current predecessors, does not have suspension struts. The damper and suspension spring are separate and the lowering can then be adjusted using the KW spring plate supplied, ”explains KW Brand Manager Jonas Ehrmann. The three KW coilovers variant 1, variant 2 and variant 3 are now available for all VW Golf 8 with front-wheel drive. The KW DDC plug & play and the KW Clubsport coilover kit for the VW Golf will also appear shortly.
