It could be the end of next year and VW will present the eighth generation of the VW Golf (MK8). But it should take a little longer before the next "R" comes onto the market. The current "R" generation has been lurking since the beginning of this year with 310 PS & 400 NM torque to make life difficult for opponents like the Audi S3. The traditional tuner ABT Sportsline is now ensuring that the “R” is not only dangerous to the S3, but also puts the brand new RS3 under a lot of pressure. This is made possible by a significant increase in performance that brings the Wolfsburg to the level of the RS3.

If the top model of the Golf series is still a little weak on the chest, we will help now. The specialists for vehicles of the Volkswagen Group are now ensuring that the facelift model 5G07 from 02/2017 receives a whopping 90 PS and 100 Newton meters more torque and thus even performs 20 NM more than a standard facelift RS3. The performance is achieved through the installation of the specially developed control unit ABT Engine Control (AEC) which ensures that the 2,0-liter turbo gasoline engine (only the DSG variant) has a brilliant 294 kW / 400 PS and 500 Nm maximum torque.
However, the full power increase is only accompanied if the in-house ABT sports catalyst is installed. If you do not want that, there is a smaller version that still mobilizes 370 PS and 460 Nm, in conjunction with the standard catalytic converter. This version is also available for the DSG version as well as the manual switch. But not only more performance offers ABT.
Also available are various suspension options in the form of suspension springs (front -20 and rear -25 millimeters) or various coilovers that allow a lowering by up to 45 millimeters. And of course, more engine sound is possible because ABT has a black painted, four-flow stainless steel exhaust system in stock in the series optics probably only the connoisseur noticed. So that the potent Wolfsburg comes to a standstill, there is an optional 6 piston sports brake system which can be admired by our own alloy wheels in 18, 19 or 20 inch.
And the body can also be modified subtly by ordering the modified front grille, the sporty diffuser or the tailgate attachment, for example. - Silencer system for the Golf VII R with Ottopartikelfilter (four dark chromed tailpipes in the diameter of 102 mm)
