The turbo engine now develops 180 kW / 245 PS, its torque is 370 Nm. The new networked driving dynamics manager ensures even more agility and sportiness. The system coordinates the electromechanical chassis functions centrally and at a higher level. A DCC chassis with adjustable dampers is available as an option, so that the GTI driver can use the standard driving profile selection to choose his own individual set-up. The result is an even more precise driving experience.

Digital and innovative. When the doors are opened, the digital displays of the standard "digital cockpit" and the infotainment system start up. "Discover Media" including streaming and Internet are used as standard, while the 10-inch "Discover Pro" system is available as an optional maximum expansion level. The "GTI design" which can be activated and which is displayed on the rev counter in the middle of the "digital cockpit" is new and individual. The new standard ambient light immerses the displays and many other illuminated areas of the interior in a spectrum of 30 freely configurable colors.

Unmistakably GTI. Typical GTI details are also retained in the new generation. The classic checked pattern has been refreshed and now adorns the newly developed sports seats. There is no longer an ignition lock in the new Golf, it has been replaced by the standard "Engine / Start / Stop" button. Interesting detail: after opening the doors it pulsates red until the engine is started. The three-spoke sports steering wheel of yore has become a new multifunction sports leather steering wheel with touch controls and an optionally integrated "Travel Assist" button to drive the Golf up to 210 km / h with assistance.

The design of the new Golf GTI also corresponds to the plus in driving dynamics. In the front, the wide air inlets, the low-profile standard LED headlights and the unmistakable light signature on the radiator grille are particularly striking. This is illuminated for the first time with a narrow LED strip that continues on the left and right into the headlight modules. At the rear, the roof edge spoiler, the diffuser and the two round tailpipes on the outside are clear characteristics of the sporty GTI variant.
