After almost completely disappearing from the scene around the turn of the millennium, the Golf GTI has once again developed into an absolute top star among the hot hatches since the introduction of the fifth model generation in autumn 2004. It thus lives up to its legendary status and is even more popular than the Golf R, even though it is even more powerful. The GTI is also very popular in the tuning scene. This example of the TCR special model built in 2019 based on the corresponding racing car based on the seventh generation also received a set of high-quality Barracuda Racing Wheels and other refinements.

19 inch Barracuda rims

The particularly light Dragoon rims, thanks to the production using the flow forming process, were mounted on the axles of the compact sports car. They measure 8,5×19 inches all around and are fitted with 235/35ZR19 Michelin tires. With their high-gloss black finish, they blend in perfectly with the color scheme of the Golf. This is all the more true as the color trim in the rim base picks up on the typical GTI red. The wheels are fixed with black racing bolts from Barracuda. They are - as long as they do not protrude beyond the rim - registration-free.

Lowering and body parts

In addition, a lowering of the hot hatch should not be missing: A ST X coilover suspension not only ensures more dynamic handling, but also lowers the body by around 40 millimeters. And last but not least, the body was also individualized, which further enhances the sporty character of the GTI TCR: JMS vehicle parts installed a body kit from Ingo Noak Tuning.

This gives the car a front spoiler, side skirts and a distinctive diffuser with four pronounced fins. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report.
