The Golf R of the generation MK5 made 184 kW (250 PS) and 320 Nm torque and had all-wheel drive 4MOTION with it. There was either a manually shifted six-speed gearbox or the DSG direct shift gearbox. And exactly this engine was stuffed into this black MK7. That is to say Two-liter, four-cylinder unit (EA888) with 300 hp flew out. And by the way, the six-cylinder was crazy 760 PS (750 BHP) pimped. And the engine block is actually still "standard". While many other conversions rely on the five-cylinder from the RS3, this conversion is definitely something special. And the car even carries the "unofficial title“Britain's most powerful Golf R. The engine block is standard, but many other things are of course not.
VW Golf R (MK7) with 760 PS
The highlight is of course the big one turbocharger (Owen Development's GBT 69-86), which has a boost pressure of up to 2,9 bar is working. Then an unbelievable 750 hp are possible. With a slightly more relaxed configuration and a boost pressure of 39 psi (2,7 bar), it still is about 720 PS. As for the torque, a maximum power of approx. 960 Nm possible, which is why the DSG gearbox reinforced had to become. And something has also happened in the interior. But only by means of VAG parts. For example, that is built in Infotainment system with the larger display from the Golf 7.5 as well as the digital one instrument cluster. On the other hand comes that too Climate control from a Tiguan used.
