At term Full leather interior one thinks first of all of luxurious interiors that are lined with leather or Alcantara down to the last corner. Leather-covered dashboards, leather-covered center consoles, clad roof linings and hand-made floor mats are all part of the good tone of an individual leather interior. But an outer shell completely covered with leather? We have since Audi S4 convertible by leather Art from 2016 never seen again. To this day! Because now the team from Pepitacarpit Kft. (PEPITA) comes from Hungary and shows us a VW bucket completely covered with leather (Kübelwagen or bucket seat wagons) of type 181. The company Pepita is a specialist for leather and upholstery work and, after extensive restoration and repair, has fitted the classic inside and outside with high-quality leather.

Leather, leather, leather on the old bucket

The brown leather was applied so perfectly that you can only distinguish it from conventional paintwork at second glance, especially from a distance. If you step closer to the vehicle, the leather interior is immediately recognizable as such. The Kübel sold in the USA as "Thing" is already without the modifications by Pepita one of the strangest cars ever and now completely bizarre. We're pretty sure this specimen would never have been used by the army. Just too good! And it seems as if all the functions, such as the flat-folding windshield, the removable convertible roof or the removable doors, are still there and fully usable. The dark brown leather on the body is joined by a set of silver Porsche rims and there was also a lowering for the purist off-road vehicle from the 70s.

many small details make up the project

There is an optical contrast in the cabin with significantly lighter leather that has been cleverly contrasted in color with contrasting stitching. Of course, every millimeter was sewn inside and out by hand, so that countless working hours are a matter of course. Lots of small details such as the refurbished headlights, the leather-covered rear view mirrors, the leather covers on the door hinges or the cool original steering wheel with leather covers round off the unique conversion impressively. Regarding changes to the engine, transmission or drive, we are currently not aware of any changes. We assume that these components have also been overhauled but are generally in series production. If we receive timely information on further changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
