Already for the adventure: VW Taos Basecamp Concept!

VW has once again put a cool concept vehicle on its feet. And of course that comes from again Volkswagen USA and thus from the VW design studio in California. The base is the brand new one this time VW Taos. He presents himself as "Basecamp concept vehicle“And is upgraded with a lot Outdoor equipment. The VW Taos SUV is basically the US version of the China SUV Tharu. The Taos is positioned below the Tiguan and will be available in the USA from summer. But so that you can already see what is possible with the Taos, VW USA built the Basecamp study. In principle, the single piece takes up the idea of Atlas Basecamp presented in 2019 on who later the Atlas Basecamp accessories line had to answer for. And apparently VW is also planning such a principle with the Taos. Here, too, various equipment elements are likely to become part of the future styling package for the Taos.

all around with flared fenders

The little off-roader carries all around Fender flares with integrated splash guard, new lower Door panels and in the wheel arch there are coarse lugs Off-road tires including black 17 inch beadlock style rims (possibly fifteen52 / Traverse MX Concept). Due to longer suspension springs (H&R special springs called "LP") the Taos is raised a bit and the Falken Wildpeak A / T trail tires (225/65 R 17) should provide more than enough propulsion in the outback.

And then there is the robust one Roof rack (Thule Canyon XT roof basket) with Baja Designs LED auxiliary lights at the front and also at the back. It enables the transport of lots of utensils and at the same time a significantly improved illumination of the surroundings is guaranteed. There was also a new one Color scheme outside with blue-gray body ("Waimea blue") and black roof, black bonnet and orange trim. In addition, some of the add-on parts also contribute black lacquer dress.

Radiator grille with Basecamp logo

Small accents like the radiator grille with the Basecamp logo and the silver ones Underrun protection elements on the front and rear complete the style successfully. And something has also happened in the cabin. Here sits a robust dividing grille (Polytec Group load separator) on the back seat that can also accommodate various items of equipment. A technical feature in the Taos Basecamp is a Bluetooth-enabled frameless interior mirror built in with an integrated compass. It will be interesting to see whether all the components from the concept vehicle will actually make it into the optional accessories range from VW. If we get more information about the changes, there will of course be an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
