VW T-Roc Facelift (2021) also for the 300 PS R top model!

World premiere for the new T-Roc: Volkswagen is continuing the success story of its compact crossover model with a fresh design, innovative assistance systems and extensive digital services. The sharpened exterior design emphasizes the unmistakable appearance of the new T-Roc as well as the new T-Roc R and the new T-Roc Cabriolet. The interior was refined with high-quality materials, a newly designed infotainment display and the standard digital cockpit. With the IQ.Light, with LED matrix headlights, as well as the IQ.Drive assistance systems with Travel Assist and the predictive cruise control pACC, innovative technologies from higher vehicle classes are finding their way into the compact SUV model family. As part of its ACCELERATE strategy, Volkswagen is consistently pursuing the path to becoming a software-oriented mobility provider.

VW T-Roc Facelift (2021)

The interplay of progressive charisma, sporty performance and robust versatility has made the T-Roc a popular top seller over the past four years. Without a direct predecessor, it immediately became an important pillar in Volkswagen's product range. More than a million units of the compact SUV have been delivered since its market launch in 2017. The model range has been supplemented by the particularly sporty T-Roc R since the end of 2019. Since spring 2020, the T-Roc Cabriolet has combined the strengths of an SUV with the option of being able to drive open.

Refined interior, sharpened exterior design

With a foamed surface and distinctive design seams, the new instrument panel sets modern and high-quality accents in the interior of the new T-Roc. The infotainment display is now positioned on the dashboard in the style of a tablet and is thus on a line of sight with the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. Depending on the equipment, the infotainment display is 8,0 inches or 9,2 inches. The compact SUV also has a digital instrument cluster as standard, which, as an optional “Digital Cockpit Pro”, is up to 10,25 inches in size. The multifunction steering wheel with its new design, which is also part of the standard equipment, also contributes to intuitive operation.

The door panels now have high-quality fabric surfaces as standard. In the “Style” and “R-Line” equipment lines, imitation leather surfaces are used there and on the armrests, which, like the headrests, have design stitching. The Style equipment line now also includes comfort seats with central panels in the ArtVelours version. In conjunction with the R-Line, the top sports seats for the driver and front passenger, which were previously only used in the T-Roc R, as well as the “nappa” leather trim are optionally available.

The exterior of the new T-Roc is sharpened, and its unmistakable crossover design is even more striking. LED headlights and tinted rear lights are part of the standard equipment. The IQ.Light with LED matrix headlights and an illuminated radiator grille bar as well as rear lights with a new graphic structure and dynamic turn signal function is offered as an option. Five new exterior paintwork and redesigned light alloy wheels in sizes 17 to 19 inches offer additional options for customization.

New level in digitization and networking

With Front Assist and Lane Assist, the new T-Roc has advanced assistance systems as standard. The new "IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist" and the predictive cruise control "Predictive ACC" enable assisted steering, braking and acceleration at speeds of up to 210 km / h. Local speed information, city entrances, intersections or roundabouts can be included in the control by integrating the signals from the front camera as well as GPS and map data.

The third generation of the “modular infotainment kit” (MIB3) is used in the new T-Roc. It enables the use of a large number of online-based functions and services. The We Connect Plus services in Europe can be used free of charge for one year as standard. This provides natural online voice control and access to streaming services, among other things. Optionally, the functions of Apple CarPlay ™ and Android Auto ™ can now also be wirelessly integrated into the operating system via the Connect Wireless app.

Efficient TSI and TDI engines, 7-speed DSG and 4MOTION optional

There are three TSI and two TDI engines to choose from in the diverse drive portfolio of the new T-Roc. Depending on the drive, the power is transmitted to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG. The 1,0-liter TSI engine with three cylinders has a maximum output of 81 kW (110 hp). As a 1,5-liter TSI, the four-cylinder drives generate 110 kW (150 PS)0304and as a 2,0-liter TSI 140 kW (190 PS). Two 2,0-liter TDI four-cylinder engines with 85 kW (115 PS) and 110 kW (150 PS) complete the range. As an alternative to the front-wheel drive, the 4MOTION all-wheel drive in conjunction with the 110 kW (150 PS) diesel engine ensures particularly superior power transmission. The 2,0-liter TSI with 140 kW (190 PS) is combined with 4MOTION as standard.

Available in the basic version and three other preconfigured equipment lines

Individual preferences can be taken into account even more easily thanks to the new division of the T-Roc's equipment lines. In addition to the basic "T-Roc" version, the compact SUV is available throughout Europe in the newly configured "Life", "Style" and "R-Line" versions. The Style equipment line shines with two-tone paintwork, additional chrome elements as well as ambient lighting and comfort seats in the interior. The exterior design and the equipment of the R-Line are now even more based on the top model T-Roc R.

The independent character is shown, among other things, in a striking, sporty bumper design and a multifunction sports steering wheel with touch controls. In conjunction with the R-Line, the new T-Roc also has a sports package including driving profile selection, progressive steering and sports suspension. The “Black Style” design package is also available in conjunction with the Style and R-Line equipment lines. Its black design elements for the exterior and interior ensure a discreetly sporty look.

The new T-Roc R: versatile performance

With its 221 kW (300 hp) four-cylinder engine, the new T-Roc R is the most dynamic compact SUV in the model family. The standard sports suspension and 4MOTION all-wheel drive also contribute to this. In addition to the distinctive sound development, the sporty performance in the interior and the R-specific exterior is also visually emphasized. The redesigned sports leather steering wheel features touch controls and the model-specific R button for direct access to the driving profile selection.

As an open crossover model, it combines the robustness of an SUV with the lightness of an open vehicle. The new T-Roc Cabriolet has an electrically operated three-layer textile top that can be opened within 9 seconds. The open four-seater is offered in the equipment lines "Style" and "R-Line". A 1,0-liter TSI engine with 81 kW (110 PS) and a 1,5-liter TSI with 110 kW (150 PS) are available as drive.
