A current VW Vento based on the last generation of the VW Polo is largely unknown in Europe, while it is an extremely popular tuning object in India, for example. Especially in countries where simple and inexpensive notchback sedans play a major role, there are a lot of people who appreciate the high quality of a VW, which is why Volkswagen often offers special and cheaper models for emerging markets than in Germany. The current generation of the VW Vento, for example, competes on the Indian market with models that are also largely unknown in this country, such as the Suzuki Ciaz or the Honda City, which are roughly the size of a Dacia Logan sedan.
Eye-catching rims and STI lettering
The tuner of the vehicle obviously had a great role model, which made the rally tracks of this world unsafe and enriched the tuning scenes: the Subaru WRX STI! There is no other explanation for the fact that the dark blue Vento TSI was equipped with golden alloy wheels in a ten-spoke design, which come in 17-inch format and are strongly reminiscent of the legendary Subaru rims. But this is not the only parallel to JDMLegend, because a white rally stripe with black STI lettering is emblazoned on the sides. Somebody probably thought that he would simply turn the model name of his Vento, which is TSI, and use it to create the STI logo. Of course, the front also underwent minor modifications, for example the VW emblem was blackened in order to fit perfectly into the non-standard black honeycomb grill. At the rear, a small spoiler was also attached to the trunk lid, which in our opinion makes a lot more sense on a Vento than a large, three-part rear wing á la WRX STI, because that would be a bit over the top, and the Vento would look like an absolute handicraft booth . So the tuner has shown good taste, and tuned the small limousine conspicuously but discreetly enough not to let it degenerate into a fair. Unfortunately, we don't know which manufacturer the golden rims are from, but it is probably an Indian make.
The engine has not been revised.
The unit that drives the VW Vento is a 1-liter TSI petrol engine with 110 hp and 175 Newton meters of maximum torque. This means that the sedan, which weighs around 1200 kg, is properly motorized, even if of course it does not tear any trees. Equipped in this way, it goes from 11 to 0 km / h in just under 100 seconds. The maximum speed is 185 km / h, with which the Vento TSI would also feel comfortable on German motorways without any problems. But in India, where the VW presented by us does its laps, the speed limit is 120, which means that engine power only plays a subordinate role.
VW Vento TSI could also arrive here
We think that this model could also win fans in Germany and Western Europe if it is cheap and well equipped. At the moment, however, it is quite difficult to import a Vento, as you also have to consider that it is a right-hand drive model. For all tuning fans there is a picture gallery of this model that is attached to the article. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report.
