Last year, the team around the German tuner Prior Design showed us a first preview of the planned widebody kit for the small Toyota GR Yaris (XP21). With this you want the already available PD aerodynamic kit (Front spoiler, cup wings, side skirt lip, diffuser, roof spoiler) and let the Japanese dwarf appear even more powerful. The previously available components are made of a high-quality glass fiber Dura-Flex mixture, which is characterized by an easy-to-work surface structure and also ensures sufficient flexibility with high stability at the same time. And this kit can now be completely supplemented with huge fender flares. The Yaris GR has thus finally mutated into a shooting star in the power midget segment.
Widebody kit Toyota Yaris
In order for the Yaris to become the Prior Design GR Yaris Widebody, you have to install the additional fender flares all around. The large components are precisely manufactured and widen the Yaris enormously on both axles. The extensions even cover the entire fender at the front and also partially extend over the front apron. At the rear, part of the apron is also covered on the side.
Incidentally, the look is particularly impressive in combination with the above-mentioned cup wings at the front and the sporty Prior rear diffuser. And so that the look looks really bad from the front, Prior Design has even developed a bonnet attachment. This makes the Yaris GR look a bit like a mini WRX STi, but it fits the picture very well. It continues with an additional rear spoiler for the tailgate and an attachment for the roof spoiler.
18 components for the widebody kit on the Yaris
The widebody kit consists of 12 parts in total, plus the PD parts mentioned at the beginning. All in all, if you pull out all the stops, you can install a whopping 18 components on the Japanese. Of course, the kit is only really impressive with a lowering, with new rims and a few optical gimmicks such as a carbon-foiled bonnet. And that is exactly what the vehicle had to offer at the Prior Design stand at the Essen Motor Show.
There the conversion was shown with RAVENOL foiling on the sides, black Schmidt aluminum rims with central locking optics and a full lowering of the chassis.
