Can you still remember as FAB design Launched the extreme widebody kit for the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG in early 2011? Extremely fat aprons with air openings, fat side skirts, significantly widened fenders all around, a blatant air scoop on the roof, a rear spoiler that can be permanently installed on request and a powerful diffuser at the rear. All the ingredients to make the SLS even more brutal than it is from the factory. The tuner RACE! South Africa put exactly such a project into action. The basis was the closed coupe version of the type C197 but the body kit doesn't leave much of it. The aerodynamic parts mentioned above were also installed here and there was also a stealth look foiling in matt gray. The aluminum rims installed here also come from FAB Design and match the rest of the vehicle in terms of color. The owner only did without the optional fixed rear spoiler, which definitely brings one or two kilograms of contact pressure on the racetrack, but in terms of top speed the tail unit should have the opposite effect.

Widebody & foiling

The RACE team! South Africa has published the brutal widebody SLS the days with a few pictures and we are of course happy to show you these. After the optically extremely comprehensive tuning cure that the SLS was allowed to endure, it is now definitely much wider, much more aggressive and dynamic than the production version, without being overdone or even chubby. In particular, I think leaving out the rear spoiler is a very good optic decision - sometimes less is more! So whoever has been secretly thinking of buying a rare SLS AMG for a long time or is even a happy owner for that is RACE! definitely an interesting starting point when it comes to individually and clearly differentiating the vehicle from the production model. And for all those who are not necessarily in sunny South Africa (Johannesburg) The vehicle may serve as a tuning template for the local tuning partner.

As far as the further changes to optics or technology are concerned, we have tried to find out the most important details. As always, we have listed what came out of this in a small summary for you in the lower part of the article. If you discover more changes that we have missed, please use our comment box and let us know, we will then add them to the article as soon as possible.
