It was the Second World War in which a company named Willys Overland got known. At that time, the company, founded in 1908, was building the robust Willys MB for the American military. An off-roader that became known as the Jeep some time later and was also well received by the civilian population. Everyone suddenly wanted to own an all-terrain off-roader. And after the war ended, the company actually started producing civil versions. They called themselves CJ (Civilian Jeep) and they were supposed to change the automotive world. In 1948 Willys tried to introduce the Willys Jeepster Phaeton Cabriolet to cover the desired segments. That was the starting shot for a transition from the robust work equipment of the army to comfort-oriented vehicles for the people. Unfortunately, the classic was discontinued a few years later. This is just about 20.000 copies of the Jeepster, which are currently sought-after collectibles and which are also popular in the Tuning scene are seen.

And this copy is the ultimate proof that the classic has plenty of tuning reserves. The vehicle was on earlier this month Bring a trailer for sale but remained in known possession and became available at a price of $ 37.501 not sold. So the chances are good that the remodel will show up again soon. The Jeepster with the characteristic appearance has undergone major changes inside and out and is, for example, in the Ferrari color "Fly Yellow" painted. There is also a complete one black interior and the original 148-ci in-line six-cylinder engine (2,4 liters) is no longer tinkering under the hood, but a one Ford V8 with a displacement of 4,9 liters (302ci) and one Edelbrock carburetor. The engine is on Four-speed automatic transmission coupled and has a Double exhaust system built for a befitting soundscape. And it's even a Cruise Control with it. There's one on the rear axle Smart Air suspension installed and the classic stands up all around Halibrand style rims in 15 inches at the front and 17 inches at the back. The wheelset is equipped with Dunlop SP Sport 5000 tires in sizes 205/60 and 245/50.

the cabin has also changed significantly

Behind the wheel set is a brand new one Bremsanlage with Brake discs fore and Drums on the rear axle, which, as far as we know, comes from a Ford Mustang II. The changes are rounded off on the outside with a new one roof in black and classic chrome-plated aprons. And of course the cabin has also been heavily rebuilt. The main changes here are Black leather and gray inserts from Miscellaneous Street Rods, there is a suitable one dashboard and a steering wheel in Banjo style. Also installed is a Pioneer system with Infinity speakers and Instruments from Stewart Warner. From a technical point of view, they are also worth mentioning Ron Francis wiring harness, the electric fuel pump, a Optima RedTop battery and the power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a Ford four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive function. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply do ours Feed subscribe to.
