Be careful with vehicles from Alpina

Incidentally, the situation is not quite as simple with vehicles from Alpina. At least if the Alpina does NOT have the gearbox prescribed by the chassis number. This is the case, for example, with the current B5 G31 Touring with V8 BiTurbo and 608 / 621 hp. This is based on a 540i xDrive, which actually has a six-cylinder (B58B30) and the ZF8hp50 gearbox ex works.

However, Alpina stuffs a heavily revised N63B44-V8 from the M550i into the Touring, including the ZF8hp75/76 automatic. Of course, the xHP app cannot know this and assumes that a 540i xDrive is to be optimized. The following video shows what happens if you flash the automatic system anyway. So if you drive an Alpina, then you have to stop BEFORE Consultation with the extremely friendly support of xHP!
