Here comes the ultimate brand resuscitation based on a Chevrolet Corvette! Curtain up for the 2021 Zagato IsoRivolta GTZ athlete! Presented by the Italian designer Zagato, the Iso Rivolta brand is to be revived. But only in a minimalistic way. Namely with only 19 exclusive vehicles, 9 of which have already been taken. Unfortunately, the first cars will probably be delivered to us from October 2020 not known Prices. Until the XNUMXs, Iso Rivolta was known for fast sports cars, small cars and motorcycles. Expressed in names: Iso Riviolta 300, Iso Grifo or the legendary Isetta, the was successfully built and marketed under license by BMW. Approximately 46 years after the company went bankrupt, Zagato now wants to revive the brand with the Zagato Isorivolta GTZ. Again with American technology under the hood and Italian design above.
C7 chassis and V8 compressor
The GTZ uses the chassis and the supercharged V8 engine from the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 of the C7 model generation. The engine has been increased to 6,8 liters, but Zagato has not yet given the exact performance data. The standard Z06 with 659 PS and 881 Nm torque and the C7 ZR1 with 765 PS & 969 NM already give an indication of the possible key data of the Zagato Iso Rivolta GTZ. And the GTZ will even be lighter than the C7. An expensive but ultra-light carbon body was put over the Chevrolet chassis, which is visually based on the Iso Rivolta A3/C from 1963. Incidentally, the Competition variant became the Bizzarrini 5300 GT some time later. And there was a preview of the new Iso Rivolta in 2017. But only in virtual form for the Gran Turismo racing game. However, the GTZ is completely new.
the GTZ has its own design
It shows itself with a long bonnet and large ventilation shafts and the oval headlights give a little Aston Martin flair. The fender flanks also have vents and then there is the long sloping roof of the coupe. It ends in strongly flared side walls. The rear is relatively inconspicuous with the small and particularly smooth trunk lid and is only loosened with a high tear-off edge. There are also two round taillights and a powerful rear diffuser with four integrated exhaust pipes. At least the taillights remind us a little bit of the organ donor. But not on the C7, but on the C6. The GTZ will be 4,62 meters long and have a wheelbase of 2,70 meters. Without a mirror, it is 1,95 meters wide and only 1,21 meters high.
