BMW Motorrad: Akrapovič rear silencer for the BMW R 18!

BMW Motorrad's extensive customizing program for the BMW R 18 is now being reinforced by the new Akrapovič rear silencers. The examples, which are 97 mm shorter than the two standard rear silencers, are made of durable stainless steel, coated in matt black and, together with a silver end cap that can be adjusted in 18-degree increments, give the rear section of the R 90 a decidedly sporty appearance.

The stylized BMW brand symbol - the "propeller" - in the middle of the end cap acts as a fine, valuable detail and special identifier. A bolted heat shield in the area of the manifold connection of the slip-on rear silencer protects the driver's footwear in this area. With a total weight of 8,2 kg, the two Akrapovič rear silencers are 1 kg lighter than the standard models and thus underline the sporty character.

The new rear silencers have been optimally matched to the 1802 cc "Big Boxer" of the R 18 and ensure a particularly rich, powerful sound experience. A separate entry in the vehicle documents is not necessary for these rear silencers, since they have been homologated together with the entire vehicle. The new Akrapovič rear silencer and the BMW Motorrad Bobber Kit for the R 18 complement each other particularly harmoniously. The BMW Motorrad Hommage single seat in bobber style, the flat rear mudguard and the black license plate holder create a particularly short, crisp tail that is perfectly offset by the new rear silencers is underlined.
