While the international BMW Motorrad customizing scene is focusing on the BMW Motorrad Heritage models R 18 and R nineT with inspiring creativity, high craftsmanship and a constant flow of new ideas, an extraordinary project based on the BMW CE 04 has now been created in Austria. In cooperation with BMW Motorrad Austria in Salzburg, the customizing company Vagabund Moto GmbH in Graz created the BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept - a stylish and multifunctional e-scooter based on the BMW CE 04 for urban areas.
Vagabond Moto Concept
“Everyone defines the mobility of the future individually for themselves. With the BMW CE 04 rover Moto Concept, we are now presenting our own idea of an urban, stylish and multifunctional e-scooter, which shows that mobility requirements are as individual as each of us. We're not reinventing the wheel, but we're rethinking the function. We call it the synergy of everyday functionality and aesthetics,” explains Paul Brauchart, founder and managing director of Vagabund Moto GmbH, the philosophy behind the BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept.
Accordingly, the custom e-scooter made in Austria not only has a particularly attractive color scheme in white, dark green, beige and black, but also various functional elements that have been realized in a modern, fresh design language and with a focus on a young target group. For example, a friendly smiley not only provides an exciting visual accent on the front wheel hub, but can also be found on the glass of the indicators. What has remained, however, is the convincing technical concept of the BMW EC 04 with key data such as 31 kW (42 hp) maximum power, dynamic acceleration of 2,6 s from 0 to 50 km/h and a range of 130 km (according to WMTC) and only 65 minutes charging time from 0% to 80% with an optional quick charger at maximum charging current.
the BMW CE 04 has great variability
“With this customizing project, it was very important to us to emphasize the great variability of the BMW CE 04. At the same time, it should be a vehicle that appeals in particular to young, sporty people in an urban environment and is nevertheless suitable for every type of customer. Above all, the modern and fresh design does justice to the sporty lifestyle claim of the CE 04,” adds Oliver Balzer, Head of BMW Motorrad Austria.
According to the motto "Action meets Fashion", the BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept received a functional top case as a supplement to the standard storage space as well as a surfboard with a transport system integrated into the vehicle - be it for the trip to the sea or to the nearest lake. “But the surfboard is not just a piece of sports equipment, it is much more a metaphor for a sustainable urban lifestyle. The BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept combines work, leisure and individuality and shows that none of this has to be a contradiction in terms,” concludes Oliver Balzer.
