BMW Motorrad presents the ConnectedRide Cradle!

BMW Motorrad now has the ConnectedRide Cradle in its range for motorcyclists who would like to use their smartphone to navigate maps. The ConnectedRide cradle is not only used as a simple holder to use the smartphone comfortably as a navigation device while driving. Rather, the BMW Motorrad Connected App can be used to display the navigation map and vehicle data such as lean angle, acceleration, deceleration and much more with the help of the multi-controller. Thanks to individually adjustable holding arms, the ConnectedRide Cradle allows numerous different smartphone sizes and charges the smartphone inductively according to the Qi standard with a maximum of 7,5 W or wired via a USB-C connection with a maximum of 7,5 W (1,5 A for 5 V). An LED charging activity indicator (can be switched off) provides information on the charging activity.

To be on the safe side, the ConnectedRide cradle can be locked on the holder of the motorcycle, provided that it supports it. The ConnectedRide Cradle can also be used with older BMW Motorrad models (e.g. BMW R 1200 GS K50) and fits all BMW Motorrad models equipped with the "Preparation for navigation device (SA 272)" option - as well as models that are equipped with multi- Controller and the option of retrofitting the navigation preparation via the BMW Motorrad workshop system (with the exception of R 1200 RT, R 1250 RT, K 1600 models). Older vehicles without a TFT instrument cluster can be operated using the "Preparation for navigation device SA 272" control element. The prerequisite for displaying the vehicle data is the special equipment "On-board computer Pro (SA 221)". The ConnectedRide cradle cannot be used with the 4-button mount cradle of the navigator.

The BMW Motorrad Connected app from version 4.0 must be used for full use of all functions described. BMW Motorrad recommends that you always install the latest updates to ensure that it functions properly. A Bluetooth connection is required to enable the app to be controlled using the navigation preparation control on the vehicle. Smartphones must have at least Bluetooth Low Energy version 4.2 to meet the security requirements (LE Secure Connections) for the connection. Smartphones with older Bluetooth versions are therefore not supported. The Bluetooth connection takes place within the BMW Motorrad Connected app and is only required once for the initial setup.

The following smartphones fit into the ConnectedRide cradle:

  1. Hello,

Savez-vous pourquoi ce cradle ne serait pas compatible with a RT12000 or 1250 with the pré equipment GPS ?
Problem mechanical (besoin de surélever le support GPS) ?
    Software problems?

    Thank you for your contributions
