BMW Motorrad is looking for Germany's best R 18 conversion!

Not many motorcycles manage to become an icon before their official market launch. But that is exactly the case with the BMW R 18 presented last year. Since then, it has been regarded as the high point of cruiser culture, as an object of desire for customizers all over the world, and numerous conversions in a wide variety of styles have been carried out in a very short time. With the R 18 customizing competition, BMW Motorrad responded to this urge to give the R 18 an individual appearance and to be able to give free rein to one's own creativity.

18 BMW Motorrad partners throughout Germany demonstrated what is possible with the R 14:

  1. Autohaus Munding GmbH
  2. Cloppenburg GmbH
  3. Dexheimer GmbH
  4. Fuchs motorcycle GmbH
  5. Hansle Motorcycling GmbH
  6. Martin Ltd
  7. MCA Frankfurt GmbH
  8. Motorrad Bögel GmbH
  9. Motorbike Center Darmstadt GmbH
  10. Motorbike Witzel GmbH
  11. Motorradhaus Ebert eK
  12. Reisacher Augsburg GmbH
  13. Riller & Schnauck GmbH
  14. Zweiradwerke Vertriebs GmbH

The 14 BMW Motorrad partners had three months to design their own personal vision of the R 18 and put it into practice. The result is completely different bikes that are impressive - from the reduced bobber to the eye-catching "bad boy" in sapphire blue. There were no limits to creativity - there were strict rules with regard to implementation: no help from external customizers and only three months from brainstorming to the finished motorcycle. The BMW Motorrad partners were able to determine the scope of customization themselves. The resulting creations can be viewed in the gallery under this link: bmw-motorrad.de

Winners will be determined by means of social media voting!

Visitors can have a say in who will ultimately be chosen as the winner via social media voting. So it's worth checking out the BMW Motorrad Germany Facebook and Instagram channels regularly. Two R 18 custom bikes will compete against each other on Tuesdays for the next seven weeks. According to the knockout system, the respective winner then goes to the next round and the overall winner is expected to be announced on November 3, 2021.

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
