Sharper & lighter: the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT 2022

The KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT sets new standards in a class where comfort and effortless conquering of thousands of kilometers count. Not only does it offer a unique grand touring experience, but it is also an agile sports motorcycle. The KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT is convincing on long journeys and sporty driving like no other sports tourer on the market. Thanks to its Euro 5-compliant V2 engine with a capacity of 1.301 cm3, 175 hp and 141 Nm torque, which is already built into the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R, nobody in its class can fool the bike when it comes to it to chase at full throttle towards the horizon. This long-distance BEAST lives up to its name not only in terms of performance.

The semi-active chassis of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT of the WP APEX type works with a special procedure. The preload of the shock absorber has been specially adjusted for a long-distance tourer and is very easy to handle. This enables the suspension to be set to four real driving situations: DRIVER, DRIVER WITH PASSENGER, DRIVER WITH BAGGAGE or DRIVER, PASSENGER AND BAGGAGE. In addition, it also has an anti-dive function as standard.

A new 7-inch TFT display can be used to adjust the driving behavior quickly and easily while driving. A new layout is used to optimally combine the provision of information and style. New, robust switches in a high-quality design complete the package and at the same time enable direct interaction between the driver and the instrument cluster.

The wheels of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT 2022 were also adopted from the latest version of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R. They reduce the unsprung masses by 1 kg compared to the old models and not only benefit the handling, but also look more aggressive. These newly developed bikes are equipped with the Continental ContiSportAttack 4 tires. The ContiSportAttack 4 offers a sportier and overall more stable driving experience - a sporty tire that perfectly matches the versatility of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT.

The KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT is equipped for the first time with the brand new navigation system Turn-by-Turn PLUS, which increases the touring experience. TBT + will be available through KTM Connect. Thanks to this system, current route information is transmitted directly to the new 7-inch TFT display, so that you can navigate even better. The TBT + navigation system will be used for the first time on the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT. Further models are to follow in the near future.

The TBT + can also be used in offline mode via SYGIC®. In this way, trips and adventures can be better planned even in the most remote places, as the NAVIGATION FUNCTION reliably guides the driver to his destination. In addition, the system has a simplified search function as well as extensive points of interest such as petrol stations, restaurants and rest stops. This allows the driver to select his favorite destinations directly on the TFT display. The functions mentioned above can all be selected directly on the new 7-inch TFT display.

The mobile phone is therefore no longer required and quick changes can be controlled more easily and conveniently while driving. In addition, with the new system, waypoints can simply be skipped without the system asking the driver to turn back. Instead, the system recalculates the route and finds the best way to get the bike back on track. It also automatically saves the last 10 destinations that the driver was looking for and offers them directly on the instrument cluster.
