Motorcycling without unnecessary noise! The GREENS again!

While others are concerned about the current situation regarding the corona virus, the green Thought about the motorcycle noise. In a motion submitted by various MPs, the party stated that in future motorcycling should be carried out without making unnecessary noise.

What is the exact content of the application?

Motorcycling without unnecessary noise! The GREENS again!

The main appeal is to the federal government, which, through campaigns, cooperation and additional measures such as noise displays, ensures that more and more people become aware of how annoying motorcycle noise would be. Because of this, motorcyclists should be more considerate in the future. In addition, the Greens are calling for limit and threshold values to be set in order to reduce the noise of the motorcycles in the long term, which is achieved, among other things, by expanding §30 (1) StVO, the so-called Poser regulation, with regard to local routes should. According to the Greens, the demands should be implemented immediately and also demand that the identity of drivers and keepers can be easily established.

We demand -> an end to the Green Party!

Furthermore, the party demands the timely introduction of the owner's cost liability. To what extent the determination of identity can later be implemented in practice is questionable: after all, there are hardly any more options on motorcycles other than the license plate on the rear that could be seriously implemented. As if that weren't enough, the party also calls on people to work towards climate-neutral and quiet mobility, which should be achieved with the help of incentives for the purchase of electric motorcycles.

Tuning should be better recognized in the future

Anyone who thinks that these were all demands is wrong. The members who have submitted the corresponding application also want to combat the technology that detects test cycles and increases emissions by appropriately exhausting the available legal means. One of the contents of the application is the wish to revise the type approval regulations so that a universal limit value of 80 decibels is set, which applies to all operating conditions and speeds. For the areas that are already covered by the current test cycle, the previously valid 77 decibels should continue to exist. Furthermore, technology that is able to increase the volume of motorcycles and cars more than necessary is to be consistently banned, which should result in an improvement in noise protection. This should be done taking into account various aspects such as peak levels or other distinctive sections.

Prohibition for motorcycles above 95 decibels

Driving bans are also to be enforced for places that are extremely badly affected during the season, and first of all for all motorcycles with stationary noise above 95 decibels. If that doesn't work, corresponding driving bans should be imposed on more drivers, both permanently and temporarily - for example on Sundays and public holidays. This should continue until the noise pollution has significantly reduced. Many are now asking themselves: But why are motorcyclists being criticized again here? After all, there are also cars whose volume is so high in series that one or the other person is bound to feel annoyed by it.

Feasible? Not interested here ...

The question also arises to what extent the applicants have any idea about the subject, let alone have a motorcycle license. There is really no answer to these questions. Rather, it reveals a typical "problem" of the Green Party: criticizing specific things that the group does not like, even though there are much more important issues that should be considered at the moment - such as the economic crisis that may be imminent. Instead, the motorcyclists are widely criticized - and often wrongly: After all, there are enough responsible motorcyclists. In our opinion, more than responsible green politicians!
