Project "Moderna" from GTO Engineering as a Ferrari replica!

Did the team from GTO engineering about another old Ferrari conversion planned? Not quite! This time it's a "new one"! And one with a familiar GTO look. In addition to the workshop service and restoration business, you now want to build your own model. A completely new vehicle, but one that looks familiar right away. GTO Engineering would like to expand its core business and open up new business fields. And that they can do that, they recently gave us a dreamlike Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione replica proven. And even with its own athlete, GTO Engineering remains true to the origin. The first design sketches show a familiar body design of the sports car with the code name “Moderna”.

a lot of carbon should be used

GTO Engineering wants to make the difference to a Ferrari replica with modern materials such as carbon and modern manufacturing processes. The design is strongly reminiscent of that of the Ferrari models from the 250s. The filigree lines swing elegantly from front to back and elegantly go around the wheels and window surfaces. In addition, there are striking round headlights, there is a barred grille and three air inlets in front of the bonnet. Only the double-bubble roof could have come from a Zagato sports car rather than a Ferrari. The side section, on the other hand, impresses with side gills behind the wheel arches and round exterior mirrors. We know it from the Ferrari XNUMX GT. And the reinterpretation, like the models, completely dispenses with unnecessary flourishes and ornaments. There are also noble rims with central wing nuts and the rear part also looks extremely successful and familiar.

central tank cap for the V12 tank

Regardless of whether it is the rear lights, the central tank cap or the exhaust tailpipes. Everything can clearly be understood as a Ferrari throwback. The cabin should also offer space for 2 passengers and luggage and the athlete should weigh less than a ton. And under the long hood? There is of course a V12 with a manual gearbox. With unspecified racing technology, the Moderna should enable significantly improved driving performance compared to the classic model. It will be interesting to see whether the athlete will find himself on the street as early as 2022 and whether the purchase price will break through the 1.000.000 euros.
