Danger! There is a "Update " the new information (pictures, video, technical data, similarly modified vehicle, etc.) contains. You will find the new info at the end of the article!

Where does tuning actually start and can you do it all on an exclusive Porsche 918 Spyder? For many, tuning begins with a lowering or a loud sports exhaust and an increase in performance is for a large part the epitome of a tuned car. But what if we take the trouble and compare the question with a statistic? Then it turns out that a good 70% of all vehicle owners who want to change the rims of the vehicle are the first to be replaced. Even before classic chip tuning or lowering, new rims are the most popular tuning utensil of all, but at the same time often one of the most expensive subsequent changes.

The choice to exchange the rims is understandable in my eyes, because often the rims installed ex works are not always unsightly or even ugly, the problem is that the standard rims are selected in the manufacturer's configurator and that some other owners of one in this one In the case of the Porsche 918 Spyder, you can also drive the standard wheelset. Normally with the 918 you can almost never expect to meet another 918 driver, but the risk that this driver may have installed the same rims is too much for some people. In addition, the wheelsets of a Porsche 918 are of course trimmed in the direction of mainstream optics ex works and of course not very individual because they should ultimately appeal to the masses, even if this is admittedly quite small.

Anyway, all good reasons for a new set of wheels! What could be more obvious than looking around in the PUR Wheels repertoire to see if a suitable alternative to the wheelset installed ex works can be found? The owner of this white 918 has "the wheelset project"And the standard rims were exchanged for a PUR Wheels RS23.M2 wheel set in Black Diamond. Of course, these rims also have the central locking that Porsche also offers for its factory rims. If you look at the selection of rims from PUR Wheels then it becomes clear to us why it had to be this provider! PUR Wheels only has high-quality rims in its range and an appealing selection of designs in stock.

As you can see, there was something suitable for the 918 and the project could begin. In addition to the built-in and very appealing rims, the Porsche may have received a few other changes that we are only aware of based on the photos, unfortunately, technical details are not yet available to us. No matter the main focus of the car is of course on the RS23.M2 wheelset which certainly does not miss the standard rims and is an absolute asset to the 918 super sports car. The vehicle immediately looks more dynamic and sporty, which is always a plus. We took a closer look at the pictures of the vehicle and made a comparison with the production version and were able to determine one or two changes to the rims.

What we have learned directly from PUR Wheels and have recognized ourselves, we provide you in a summary as usual below. Should you find any further changes, we would be happy if you post them in the "comment box", we will then add them to the post as soon as possible.

Ps. If you have more tuned vehicles like this one Rolls Royce Wraith or even one Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV with PUR Wheels just click on the name of the tuner at the photo hint (below the picture)!
