How does the powder coating work?
Powder coatings are based on polymer resin systems combined with curing agents, pigments, leveling agents and other additives. Additives are additives that are added to a substance to improve certain properties. These ingredients are melted, cooled and ground to a uniform powder. This mixture is similar to baking flour. The process of electrostatic spray deposition (ESD) applies the powder coating to the surface. In this method, a spray gun is used. This type of application is the most common method of applying powder. Powder coatings can also be applied to non-metallic materials such as plastics and fiberboard (MDF). Sometimes a powder coating is going through fluidization applied. fluidize is used in fluidized bed technology. Small particles (bulk material) are loosened by the addition of air, mixed and applied to the surface. Preheated particles are dipped in a funnel and applied to the construct. Depending on the mass and temperature of the particles and the type of powder used, post cure may be required. It does not matter which process technology is used, powder coatings are easy to use, environmentally friendly, cost effective and robust.
