When is the installation not allowed?

Before you buy an ambient lighting for retrofitting, you should first make sure that this light source is also allowed according to the road traffic regulations. Advantageous for you: the legislator does not specify any clear rules for interior lighting in the interior. However, the road traffic regulations state that the light must not penetrate and radiate outwards so that it dazzles other road users or changes your own signal lights.

It is also important that you are not blinded or distracted by the ambient lighting. This also applies to any retrofitting of ambient lighting in the footwell. Tip: If you install ambient lighting on the entrances or on the ceiling, it makes sense to equip it with a door sensor or to connect it directly to the factory interior lighting. In this way, the LEDs cannot radiate outwards while driving. Make sure that the dashboard lighting and reading lights are not too bright. Otherwise you can retrofit them individually and according to your taste. But not OUTSIDE!
