Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este comprises eight vehicle classes +++ "Public Days" on the grounds of Villa Erba with festival character +++ BMW Group celebrates the premiere of a sporty, elegant one-off +++ BMW Group with a diverse presence +++ " Amici & Automobili – Wheels & Weisswürscht” sets Bavarian accents on Lake Como +++ BMW Group Classic is carefully developing the prestigious concours event further. From 19th to 21st May 2023, BMW Group Classic is organizing the legendary Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in cooperation with the Grand Hotel Villa d'Este. This year the event includes the following eight vehicle classes:

Class A: A CENTURY OF THE 24 HOURS OF LE MANS: HEROES OF THE MOST FAMOUS RACE IN THE WORLD

Class B: THE FAST AND THE FORMAL: PRE-WAR HIGH-SPEED LUXURY
Class C: GRANDE VITESSE: PRE-WAR WEEKEND RACERS
Class D: INCREDIBLE INDIA: THE DAZZLING MOTORING INDULGENCES OF THE MIGHTY MAHARAJAS

Class E: PORSCHE AT 75: DELVING INTO THE STUTTGART LEGEND'S ICONIC AND ECCENTRIC BACK CATALOGUE
Class F: GRAN TURISMO: EXPERIMENTING WITH THE POST-WAR EUROPEAN GT
Class G: THAT “MADE IN ITALY” LOOK: STYLES WHICH CONQUERED NEW WORLDS

Class H: HERE COMES THE SUN: “TOPLESS” DONE DIFFERENTLY!

In addition, spectacular concept cars from different manufacturers will again be awarded prizes in their own class. The parade of the Concorso d'Eleganza in front of the Villa d'Este will take place as usual on Saturday. The jury selects the main prize "Best of Show" and announces it on Sunday evening with the Trofeo BMW Group. In addition, all participants and participating vehicles compete for the respective class wins, the Coppa d'Oro audience prize and numerous other prizes, such as the Trofeo del Presidente, which is presented by the head of BMW Group Classic and president of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, Helmut Käs, is awarded.

In this context, Jonas Kaufmann, star tenor and brand ambassador of BMW Group Classic, will be given a special task: he will award the "Trofeo Il Canto del Motore" for the best engine sound, chosen by the jury. BMW Group Classic brand ambassador and racing driver Bruno Spengler will also be there.

The Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este "Public Day - Il Festival" on the grounds of the nearby Villa Erba on Sunday, May 21st will again give the general and interested public the opportunity to see the famous parade of all vehicles of the to experience the Concorso d'Eleganza. But that's not all. It will be a multifaceted cultural automotive day - a colorful program with music and entertainment for the whole family. The vehicles taking part in the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este are on display there before the parade and can be viewed up close.

On the Public Day, the BMW Group is also presenting spectacular new vehicles with the most advanced technologies, from the BMW XM Label Red to the MINI Cooper SE Cabrio and an electric scooter from BMW Motorrad. Furthermore, the new all-electric M Performance model of the BMW 7 Series will be shown in an exclusive “two tone” finish. As a highlight, the BMW Group is celebrating the premiere of a sporty, elegant one-off: a homage to traveling as a couple. BMW M GmbH is bringing a special automotive guest to Lake Como: the new edition of the legendary BMW 3.0 CSL. The legendary vehicle will be on display both on Saturday in front of Villa d'Este and on Sunday in front of Villa Erba, flanked by its ancestor, the BMW 3.0 CSL from 1973.

This year, Rolls-Royce will be the brand's first all-electric automobile, the Rolls-Royce Specter (WLTP combined: energy consumption: 21,5* kWh/100 km; electric range: 520* kilometers; CO2 emissions: 0 g/km. * Preliminary information - vehicle still in homologation), show in the magnificent mosaic garden of the Villa d'Este. Rolls-Royce is thus entering the age of e-mobility and has already confirmed that the entire product portfolio will be fully electric by the end of 2030.

The well-known event “Amici & Automobili – Wheels & Weisswurst” from Munich sets Bavarian accents on Saturday, May 20th on the grounds of Villa Erba. On this day, vehicles of all kinds are celebrated and the models are warmly welcomed by automobile clubs and communities of all brands from all over the world. Before the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este starts, the already traditional Prelude Tour takes place again, which this year also makes a stopover at the Monza racetrack. On Thursday 18th May late afternoon the vehicles will arrive at the port of Cernobbio and will be open to the public.

With the extent of this event and the variety of topics presented on site, BMW Group Classic, as the organizer of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, is underpinning its efforts to carefully develop the event further without overly impairing its historical character. In doing so, it aims to make the event more accessible to a broad audience by integrating various thematic directions and to celebrate automotive cultural heritage.

This is exactly what has ensured the special flair of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este since 1929.

The “Trofeo BMW Group – Best of Show” winner will be presented with a special timepiece from A. Lange & Söhne: the unique 1815 CHRONOGRAPH in 18k white gold with a solid red gold dial and the hand-engraved coat of arms of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d' Este on the folding floor. As part of its partnership with the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, which has existed since 2012, the German watch manufacturer focuses on the historical connection between motorsport and timekeeping. In addition, the partnership is characterized by a shared commitment to tradition, craftsmanship and mechanical innovation.

RM Sotheby's is the official auction partner of BMW Group Classic this year. Among other things, a number of BMW M vehicles from a private collector will be auctioned on Saturday, May 20th at the Villa Erba site.
