Exhaust scandal: VW wants to keep this secret secret from you

[Display]

You probably know that VW has fitted many diesels with an illegal defeat device in the engine controls. What you may not know, however, is a secret that VW prefers to keep to itself: If you have such a cheat diesel, the automaker owes you a lot of money. We'll tell you what's behind the secret and how to get your money. Because somehow it went really badly with this VW cheat software in the engine. If you own a diesel like this, you may have already installed the software update. Hope you got lucky - because quite a few car owners don't recognize their car afterwards. In many cheat diesels, the EGR valve becomes sooty in no time at all, the car no longer pulls like it used to and consumes more. But the biggest hammer is when you want to sell your car. Hardly anyone wants to buy a cheat diesel. Even the smartest dealers can't get rid of particularly used Euro 5 diesels, says the Central Association of German Motor Vehicle Trades (ZDK).

If anyone ever buys a car like this, they will only do so at a steep discount. Even many car dealers only have to sell off the vehicles for half their value. And now there is also discussion about the fact that your diesel is no longer allowed to run in cities like Stuttgart or Hamburg... Doesn't someone actually have to pay for it if something like that happens to you? After all, VW customers like you can at least be responsible for the company's engine manipulations. In the USA it is clear: this is not possible. VW has already spent more than 25 billion euros on penalties and compensation for its customers. And in Germany? Here VW claims that those defrauded are not entitled to compensation. The software update, which has now been installed on more than two million diesel engines, should be enough to make amends. Apparently you wouldn't have a chance in court. The secret VW hasn't told you is that this isn't true.

Exhaust scandal: VW wants to keep this secret secret from youMany thousands of diesel owners have already sued VW or their VW dealer - and the vast majority of them win. Of the 519 judgments that the ADAC evaluated, 400 were in the interests of the buyers. But VW obviously doesn't want too many of those defrauded in the emissions scandal to come up with the idea of suing for damages. Therefore, the company continues to spread the legend that there is no compensation in Germany. You can also sue VW for damages - even if you installed the software update or sold your car. However, you have to take action yourself and sue VW. But going to a lawyer is annoying and can be expensive if you don't have legal protection insurance. Fortunately, there is an alternative, the online platform myRight. Diesel owners can register for lawsuits against VW on myright.de and upload their documents (purchase agreement, vehicle registration document, etc.) as a scan. So it's really easy, and the best thing is: you can compete against VW without any cost risk. myRight covers court and legal costs. Only if the lawsuit is successful will myRight receive a success commission. In return, you have the chance to get the new price for the cheat diesel back. And to show VW that as a customer in Germany you can't be cheated so easily.

  1. Specialized lawyers can also help enforce the rights and sue for damages.
I have had good experiences with Decker & Böse from Cologne.
It was straightforward (upload vehicle documents) and then the lawyers can get started. Everything lasts, but the success speaks for itself.
