Cyclops, blenders, sinister figures: According to statistical determinations by “Licht-Test”, almost every fifth car is on the road with poor lighting. Since 1956, the most successful road safety campaign in Germany has set itself the task of notifying motorists of defective and misaligned headlights and lights. In 2021 there will also be an attractive competition on the homepage www.licht-test.de, in which, among other things, a Dacia Duster will be raffled off. The safety of vehicle lighting is also an important concern of QUIXX, where they warmly congratulate them on the project's 65th birthday. The company has been developing do-it-yourself products for the restoration of vehicle surfaces for many years. This includes, for example, the repair of headlight covers made of plastic.

Because they become blind over time, which manifests itself in a reduced light yield and dangerous scattered light. Fortunately, with the QUIXX tutorial and the headlight restoration set for 18,95 euros, the problem can be solved in no time without expensive headlight replacement. UV radiation, rain, salt, dirt, incorrect care: all of this does not leave headlights without a trace for years. The consequences are yellowing, clouding or even blindness - and this can even be relevant for the main inspection. Fortunately, the “light test” can warn you in advance in many cases. The headlight restoration set from QUIXX, the do-it-yourself brand from Neuried near Munich for everything to do with vehicles, is helpful for repairs.

Step by step

It starts with the polishing: At the beginning, the area around the headlights is masked clean and the surface is then cleaned and moistened with water. Then the sanding papers (2000, 3000 and 5000 grit) are used one after the other. It is very important to always use them wet and to clean the surface with water in between. The correct grinding movements are described in detail in the instructions so that an optimal result is achieved.

Tip: This is how the DIY scratch remover from Quixx works

After drying, the QUIXX polishing paste is applied and everything is polished to a high gloss. The scratches have been removed, the glasses clear and transparent again. Time for the seal: Simply apply it, spread it and let it work for five to ten minutes, then polish off. Thanks to this long-lasting protective layer, dust, road dirt and UV radiation no longer stand a chance. Now just remove the adhesive tape and you're done. Have you not quite come along yet? In the video tutorial everything is explained again step by step.
